If you haven’t already, you need to get yourself over here to Bare Necessities, the online lingerie site, which has marked down all of its inventory by 20% for this weekend only (the sale ends Monday night). The sale includes a wide selection of maternity and nursing bras here and some of my favorites are still available in a good range of sizes and colors. Bella Materna’s maternity/nursing bras are my absolute favorite, but they can be a bit pricey, so I also suggest Bravado’s nursing bras. I tried the bra at left, Bravado’s Lifestyle Microfiber Nursing Bra, during my last pregnancy and was quite pleased with the fit, comfort, and ease of nursing access (and it comes in hot pink–obviously everyone needs a hot pink nursing bra). The Bravado bra is on sale for USD $31.20, but I still recommend a Bella Materna bra if you can stand to spend a little more (the Seamless Nursing Cup bra at right is my favorite and is on sale for USD $49.60). The amazing quick-drying fabric Bella Materna uses in its bras is worth the extra money.

Speaking of quick-drying fabric, one bra that I strongly suggest you stay away from is this Le Mystere Florence Underwire nursing bra. I normally love Le Mystere’s bras, and have worn them for years. The Florence nursing bra fit really well and was extremely supportive (doesn’t the model in this photo look well-supported?), but it is made from a very thick cotton and let’s face it, if you are nursing, your bra is going to get wet. The cotton took forever to dry and after nursing once, I inevitably spent the rest of the day in a bra soaked with breast milk. Not so comfortable, and not so fragrant either.
