Ingrid & Isabel has moved into maternity hosiery and we could not be happier over here at PF. Maternity tights need that perfect combination of opaque texture and no-nonsense, ironclad grip at the top of the bump. You’d be surprised how difficult it is to find that combo and the price of the tights isn’t really an indicator of how effective they are. Basically, you need to try them all out before you find that magic pair. Everyone’s go-to brand, SPANX, has the infamous SPANX Mama Spanx Maternity Full-Length Pantyhose. They have built-in shapewear, but the line curiously only does maternity pantyhose, no opaque tights. I have always loved the texture and softness of Trasparenze’s maternity tights, but the grip leaves something to be desired. You can’t wear these at 39 weeks pregnant without having to hike them up pretty regularly.
Ingrid & Isabel‘s opaque maternity tights are priced at only $20 and have both a satisfactory grip and the perfect combination of opaqueness and matte finish. Try them out. I feel as if maternity tights are entirely personal, you just have to keep trying until you find your perfect pair.
Of course, if you want serious tights with serious support, you can dabble in the world of maternity compression tights. Read my blog posting for far too much information about spending your pregnancy in compression tights.
