Bargain Baby Shopping At Uniqlo’s New Online Boutique

October 25, 2012

We are not talented bargain shoppers over here at PF, but it is so very nice when we accidentally happen upon a spectacular bargain worthy of a blog posting.

Such is the case with Uniqlo’s line of baby and children’s clothing, which went up for sale online this week. On a recent trip to New York City, my husband stopped in at the Fifth Avenue Uniqlo location and picked up a bag full of Uniqlo baby clothing. I had never purchased anything from Uniqlo before, but I fell in love with the baby rompers and sets he purchased. They are soft, made from thick cotton, incredibly comfortable, and they actually fit according to size, which is a welcome change from most baby lines. The baby and toddler sets also have these especially clever buttons attached to the tops so you can make sure baby’s top doesn’t ride up while she’s sleeping.

Now, my husband told me the clothing was inexpensive, but I had no idea just how inexpensive until I checked out the new Uniqlo online boutique today. The Pink Cotton Ribbed Baby Romper that I love and intentionally go looking for when I get the baby ready for bed is only $9.90! $9.90! I have several baby rompers that cost more than $60 and I don’t like them near as much. And by the way, just about every piece of baby clothing now available on Uniqlo’s new site costs less than $15. Even in larger toddler sizes, it is hard to find a single piece of clothing that costs more than USD $50. At those prices, I would normally assume this collection was cheap and tacky, and what a mistake that would be.
