J Brand has released its popular Maternity Legging in one of its newest washes, “Lavish,” which is a versatile cross between purple and burgundy. Buying from J Brand’s maternity line is obviously a no-brainer, the decadent price tag being the only obstacle to every pregnant woman owning the entire line. Although, I will point out that J Brand doesn’t give pregnant women near the selection of cuts and washes it should–the line is actually sort of stingy with new maternity selections.
Still, the J Brand Maternity Legging in Lavish is a rightly coveted piece of maternity wear. I own the “Lavish” wash in a pair of non-maternity jeans and it is an incredibly practical color. Black, white, grey, nude–all of your favorite neutrals pair with these jeans.
J Brand doesn’t do maternity denim with an over-the-bump waistband so these may not be for a woman in her late third trimester who can’t quite swing under-the-bump anymore. If you can’t resist the color and must buy them anyway, you may very likely be wearing your J Brands for months after that baby is born. The cold weather is arriving here in DC and yours truly is still not back in non-maternity jeans–I’ll likely be wearing J Brand maternity for the next few weekends until I accept reality, give in and buy a larger pair of nonmaternity jeans. Yes, these are priced at $216, but if you’re still wearing them seven months out, they almost seem a wise investment.
