How To Tackle Pregnancy Back Fat

September 13, 2012

Well, that is a rather miselading heading as there is nothing you can do to get rid of pregnancy-induced back fat. There is a biological reason why your back beefs up when you are pregnant and I don’t think there is anything you can or should do to stop that. You can, however, acknowledge that your back is suddenly wider and wear a properly fitted bra that stretches in the right places and doesn’t dig so tightly into your back that it cuts off the flow of blood to your head.

Like the SPANX Bra-llelujah Wireless Full Coverage Bra. I try not to question unbelievably good sales when I see them, but I am perplexed as to why Amazon is currently selling the SPANX Bra-llelujah Wireless Full Coverage Bra for only $39.99. This is normally a $62 bra and like most successful SPANX items, doesn’t go on sale. The bra is being sold through Pea in the Pod, which per usual, has falsely marketed a non-maternity item as “maternity.” But in this case, the SPANX Bra-llelujah Wireless Full Coverage Bra really is an ideal maternity item. It’s a completely seamless bra, with an easy front snap, very thick straps, wireless but supportive, made from the stretchiest, most forgiving nylon that grows with you and does not cause horrendously offensive back fat, even at 39 weeks.

Really, how could any pregnant woman not want to be wearing this bra?

Speaking of bras, just in case you have not been tuned in to all things Jessica Simpson, her maternity line launches tomorrow at Destination Maternity. There are a few promo photos which have been released already and yes, those are pleather leggings. I’d love to tell you I am going to review the collection tomorrow, but I feel compelled to trek out to a mall this weekend and really try the stuff on before I condemn it. Who knows, maybe Jessica is going to break the mold of traditionally disappointing celebrity maternity lines and create a tasteful, clever, high-quality collection that truly fills a void in the U.S. maternity market?

Or, maybe not. Look for my review on Monday.
